Director - Grazing With Gazelles

Entrepreneurs in Residence (EiR); Only for use within an EiR context.

I'm honoured and excited to be involved with this initiative, and look forward to exploring new connections between the University and business.

Graeme Quar, Director - Grazing With Gazelles

Graeme has spent 40 years in industry, supporting and advising businesses.

Graeme’s first career spanned 40 years as a solicitor providing legal advice and solutions to business owners. He rose through the ranks of a substantial Hampshire solicitors partnership soon becoming a partner and then the head of the firm's commercial law department.

In 1994 Graeme struck out on his own establishing a bespoke legal practice, Graeme Quar & Co, being A Law Firm Advising Business. After 22 years of independent trading the business was sold to СÀ¶ÊÓƵ based Biscoes Solicitors where Graeme led and managed a team of corporate and property solicitors until 2022.

Graeme enjoys sharing his experience and knowledge with current and prospective business owners. For his second career Graeme has launched a business consultancy, Grazing with Gazelles, that advises and mentors mid-market businesses on growth and scale up. He's welcomed the opportunity to work with the СÀ¶ÊÓƵ by his appointment as an Entrepreneur in Residence to encourage students, staff and alumni to take the entrepreneurial challenge.

Graeme has a portfolio of non-executive director positions including being on the boards of a waste recycling company and Hoeford Research Limited for whom he holds the Home Office Establishment Licence for their GMP facility.

Constantly learning, he's completed the Financial Times Non-Executive Director Masters diploma and the Leadership Challenge with the Growth Institute.

When Graeme is not supporting business in scaleup he is literally scaling up mountains having trekked the ten highest peaks in Africa. He enjoys northern soul music and is a season-card holder at Manchester City, having grown up in the city.

Graeme Quar can offer particular expertise in:

  • Buying and selling businesses
  •  Starting and scaling up a business
  • Company leadership and governance
  • Strategic planning and implementation
  • Corporate sales and acquisitions
  • Building a personal profile and networking
