Summary

I am a Registered Nurse (Adult) with a PhD in Health Sciences from the University of Southampton. With over 10 years of nursing experience, I have worked in both clinical practice in acute and community settings, as well as in academia.

Since September 2020, I have been a faculty member in the School of Health and Care Professions at the СÀ¶ÊÓƵ, where I teach, assess, and supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students in Health Sciences. My main areas of expertise include evidence-based practice, qualitative healthcare research, long-term conditions (particularly chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and dementia), and palliative care.

I am currently developing a research program aimed at improving the standards of care and wellbeing for individuals living with long-term conditions in the community. I have a specific interest in patients living with dementia, COPD, and multiple long-term conditions. I have been awarded a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship by NIHR ARC Wessex and the Alzheimer’s Society to further develop my programme of research and increase my focus on dementia research.

I lead and collaborate on multiple research projects, both locally and nationally, which include:

- AIMed: Optimising treatment regimens using computer systems for people living with dementia

- Addressing challenges in accessing mental health and dementia support for СÀ¶ÊÓƵ residents through the co-design of patient pathways

- Self-management of multiple long-term conditions among individuals with dementia and their caregivers
